Biography
Melanie Ramos is a Puerto Rican actress, artist, writer, and director best known as the creator of Melevill, the first and only Boricua horror hostess. Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico—deep in the south of the island, in a region the older folks called “The Witch City”—Melanie channels the island’s rich folklore into her art. By blending Caribbean pirate tales of Roberto Cofresi and Boricua cryptid legends like the Hupia, El Chupacabra, and La Gárgola with her love of American and Japanese pop culture, she perfectly embodies the sassy femme fatales of classic pulp fiction.
As a true Renaissance woman, dancer, and co-creator of Neo-Pulps! Publishing, Melanie’s talents stretch across independent horror cinema, macabre literature, and digital media. Drawing deep inspiration from Vampira, classic horror host traditions, grindhouse cinema, and anime, she currently hosts the YouTube web series Melevill’s Hades Theater, bringing late-night UHF aesthetics to a growing fanbase. As of 2026, she is actively expanding the Neo-Pulps! universe with her micro-budget indie film Melevill’s Tales From Hades, the upcoming syncretic horror novelette series Melindra and The Damned, and her original short stories featured in the bestselling Neo-Pulps! Amazon anthology.
